Until May 28 inclusive, everyone can add Metro 2033 Redux to their collection on Xbox, where the shooter will remain forever.
Metro 2033 Redux is a slightly improved version of the original game with minor technical improvements and modernized graphics.
The plot of the shooter is based on the novel of the same name by writer Dmitry Glukhovsky (Dmitry Glukhovsky), who was sentenced to 8 years in prison in absentia by a Russian court for calling to stop the war in Ukraine and criticizing the actions of the authorities.
We shall remind you that Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of the Metro universe, recently confirmed that he was working on a new game in the series with 4A Games
Metro Redux is a set of video games in the genre of post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with elements of survival horror and stealth, which is a remastered version of two games in the Metro 2033 franchise: Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. It was released in August 2014 on Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One; in 2020, the “Redux” was released on Nintendo Switch. Compared to the original Metro 2033, Redux has made many improvements in terms of gameplay and graphics.
In both games, the action takes place in the Moscow subway after a nuclear war; the protagonist, a young soldier named Artem, fights mutants and members of enemy groups.
Critics gave the collection mostly positive reviews. The main advantages they noted were improved graphics and performance optimization, as well as Metro 2033, which received a significantly updated engine. Among the disadvantages was the minimally modernized Last Light.

Metro Redux contains two games from the Metro 2033 game franchise: Metro 2033 and Last Light. Both games are first-person shooters with elements of stealth and survival horror. The gameplay is based on exploring the tunnels and stations of the Moscow subway, as well as the radiation-poisoned surface, and battles with mutated monsters and enemy soldiers of various factions. Metro 2033 and Last Light have multiple endings that depend on a variety of decisions made by the player as they progress through the game.
In both games, the setting is Moscow, destroyed by nuclear war. The protagonist of the games is a young soldier named Artem. In Metro 2033, he has to save his home station from the Blacks, mysterious and dangerous creatures. The game has two possible endings – their choice is determined by a system of “morality points” hidden from the player: in the end, Artem can either launch missiles into the Black hive, wiping it out, or destroy the laser targeting device, leaving the creatures alive. The plot of Last Light builds on the first ending: the missile attack on the Black’s lair was carried out, only one young individual survived, and now Artem’s task is to find and destroy the Black, while fighting the troops of the communist Red Line and the fascist Fourth Reich
